Gnabry extends Bayern stay through to 2028

Serge Gnabry will continue to play at Bayern Munich for the next two years after signing a new contract extension with the Bavarian giants.

Serge Gnabry has signed a contract extension with Bayern Munich through to June 2028.

The German's contract was set to run out this summer, but he has put pen to paper on a two-year extension.

Gnabry joined Bayern in 2017 from Werder Bremen, though he initially spent his first season on loan with Hoffenheim before breaking into the first team in 2018.

He has since gone on to make 311 appearances for Bayern in all competitions, scoring 100 goals and providing 69 assists.

Gnabry has won the Bundesliga six times, two DFB-Pokal titles, the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup during his time at Bayern so far.

"I'm excited to get to play for Bayern for more years," Gnabry told the club's website. "Talks were always positive.

"When I started at Bayern, I never would've thought that I'd be here for 10 years by the end of this contract. My goals are to keep things going.

"We're a real unit and can achieve something big. The reasons to renew my contract are the team, the coaches, the whole club, the fans, the city and the environment. I feel very much at home at Bayern."

This season, Gnabry has netted seven goals in all competitions, while registering nine assists from an expected assists figure of 4.4 (xA).
